Children’s Ministry – Psalm 34 Ministry

I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
    he delivered me from all my fears.

verse 4

To learn about worship and to give an opportunity for you to model worshiping disciples, all families start worship service together. The children will have a Children’s Time with the pastor and then can choose to stay in the sanctuary in the children’s area (or sit with their parents), or go to our Sunday School for further instruction, crafts and snacks. Most families choose to come to the Contemporary Service at 10:30AM.

Taste and see that the Lord is good;
blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.

verse 8

We want to provide a place where children can have fun and feel loved by God through the church. There is always a craft/activity available for children as well as a snack. The pastor is adamant that we must use Hawaiian Bread for communion because the body of Christ has to taste sweet and good.

Come, my children, listen to me;
    I will teach you the fear of the Lord.

verse 11

We believe that giving the building blocks of faith to children so that once they decide to follow Jesus, they will have the knowledge of God’s word to inform them in their discipleship journey. We want to offer a safe space for children to start thinking about and asking questions about God through scripture. Milton UMC will use the Orange Sunday School curriculum for the months of August, September, and October for pre-K to 5th grade.

The lions may grow weak and hungry,
    but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.

verse 10

We are currently working to connect the older generation with the children in a more meaningful and impactful way. More than quarter of our church’s adults volunteer for our VBS. We also believe in understanding God through service. Our goal and expectation is for all children who are 6th grade and above is to be able to serve during worship. We will train our children to serve in the tech booth, Sunday School aid, Worship Team and other projects.
